#5 Flickr

Now I'm really flying. I saved this image to Flickr and now I've added it to my blog. Sorry for stating the obvious.
Flickr is a great way to share your photos with family and friends.
With families scattered these days, it is a great way to share the photos without clogging up email accounts.
I've added captions to photos and explored the various 3rd party software available. Where do people get the time to create the 3rd party software. What fantastic fun you can have with your photos.

Week 4 - RSS

What a great way to have everyone else to do the work for you. Would be great to have this working on our library website. We could tell the public about any special events which are happening in the library.

The thing I like about RSS is that it brings the news to you. I have to explore Bloglines more before I can really comment about what I like about Newsreaders, except to say, its great that you can organise your RSS feeds. Having web based newsreaders also makes podcasts etc. more accessible.

Week 3 - Flickr

Flickr, a world of photos from everywhere. Will have to spend loads more time there though.

Week 2: creating a blog

Wow, how easy was that? I now have a blog. Can I tell you that Blogs actually annoy me. Anyone getting on the Internet and talking about whatever interests them.

I'm actually glad to be participating in the Learning 2.0 program because I would not be investigating these technologies on the Internet if I didn't have to. Using the Internet for researching for library borrower questions is what I love to do, but to just surf and play, I don't have the inclination.

Computers are an everyday part of life now. Everywhere you go, computers are controlling things. My children have computers in their rooms at child care. I didn't see a computer until about Year 7. The good old Commodore 64 which we spent lots of time playing arcade games on - Star Wars etc.

I have to keep abreast of the changes or the kids will be teaching me about things.

Looking forward to the next part of the Learning 2.0 pathway.
